TNI AD Deploys Heavy Equipment, Gayo Lues-East Aceh Road Begins to Be Repaired
ACEH - Still closed due to the flood and landslide disasters that hit at the end of 2025, the Indonesian Army also operated a number of heavy equipment to restore the Gayo Lues-East Aceh road.
The line is also the only access for residents of a number of villages in Pining District, Gayo Lues Regency, which is about 40 kilometers from the city center in Blangkejeren District.
Based on ANTARA's monitoring on one of the roads in Pepelah Village, Pining District, as many as three units of excavators were operated by the TNI AD to clean the soil and stone material that still covered part of the road.
In the process of repairing this road, people from Blangkejeren and Pining directions walk alternately, waiting for instructions from the TNI AD personnel on duty.
Previously, the Commander of the Military District Command (Dandim) 0113/Gayo Lues, Lieutenant Colonel of the Medan Artillery Fran Desiapan Eka Saputra, ensured that there was currently no completely isolated area in Gayo Lues after the disaster in late November 2025.
Although there are no totally isolated areas, Fran said there are still road access to a number of areas in Gayo Lues that are considered difficult, such as to Pining District.
"Pining District, until now we are still trying to be able to open access to the road. It is open, but it is still limited to the load that can be loaded. So, until now for access to Pining it is still only two-wheeled vehicles and four-wheeled vehicles that are double-axle," he said, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, January 31.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo emphasized that the acceleration of cleaning, especially public facilities, was a priority so that the social, economic, and public service activities of the people of Aceh could recover immediately.
"We all want to ensure that people affected by disasters do not stay in difficult conditions for a long time," said Dody.
