Russia Showcases Sarma MLRS at World Defense Show 2026 Riyadh This Month

JAKARTA - The Russian state technology company, Rostec, will showcase its latest high-mobility multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), Sarma, at the 'World Defense Show 2026' in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, it was reported by the Rostec press service.

"The state company Rostec will present its newest high-mobility dual launch rocket system, Sarma, for the first time," the press service reported, as quoted by TASS (30/1).

"The first appearance of this weapon system will take place at the international defense and security exhibition 'World Defense Show 2026' in Riyadh as part of the Rosoboronexport booth," he continued.

Furthermore, the Sarma MLRS is mounted on an 8x8 all-wheel drive chassis. Its main weapon is a 300 mm caliber launcher tube capable of effectively attacking various targets, including enemy personnel, artillery, armored vehicles, air defense systems, other offensive weapons to military facilities.

The combat vehicle has a crew of three people. The Sarma armored vehicle allows the operator to take a position, perform all preparatory operations, and fire without leaving the armored cabin, which protects the soldier from fragments of bullets and armor-piercing incendiary ammunition. The vehicle can also be controlled remotely from a shelter.

It is known that the World Defense Show 2026 is one of the largest international defense and security exhibitions, which took place from February 8 to 12 in Riyadh. The event is held under the auspices of the Saudi Ministry of Defense and brings together the world's leading arms and military equipment manufacturers.
