KFAED Delegation Implements Cultural Immersion and Educational Visit to Indonesia

JAKARTA - The best Kuwaiti high school student delegation and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) carried out an educational visit and cultural immersion program to Indonesia on January 16-22, 2026 with the main destinations of Bandung and Jakarta.

This visit was carried out at the initiative of KFAED and the Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait City and is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Kuwait, especially in the fields of culture, education, and human resource development.

During their stay in Indonesia, the KFAED delegation visited various strategic locations and development projects in West Java Province which received financing support from KFAED. The field visit will be accompanied by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, the West Java Provincial Government, and the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), which will provide explanations about the process, achievements, and impacts of development on the community.

The KFAED Cultural Immersion Program in Indonesia aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the Republic of Indonesia and the State of Kuwait. This initiative also includes exploring cooperation in the development of culture, art education, cultural talent exchange, and potential collaboration in the creative economy sector, said the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its statement, as quoted (30/1).

"Through visits to cultural heritage sites, art institutions, and dialogues with cultural stakeholders, this program is expected to open opportunities for strategic and sustainable cultural partnerships," the ministry added.

In addition to the cultural field, it is hoped that bilateral relations in the economic field will also continue between the two countries through KFAED which had stopped since 2006 due to the cessation of loan requests from the Indonesian Government. KFAED itself is the largest independent financial institution in the Middle East which can be one of the useful sources in developing funding for Indonesia because the financing offered by KFAED is not accompanied by complex requirements, a long enough payment period, and especially KFAED does not interfere with domestic political affairs of the partner country.

The main delegation consisted of 17 participants, consisting of 12 female students from Kuwait's high school achievers and 5 companions from KFAED. The series of visits includes the Padalarang-Cileunyi Toll Project, the Bandung electricity distribution network, the Pasteur-Cikapayang-Surapati overpass and bridge, as well as various cultural destinations such as the Gedung Sate Museum, Tangkuban Perahu, Angklung Udjo performances, the Indonesian Batik Museum, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Old Jakarta and Fatahillah Museum, as well as the Indonesian National Museum.

Through this program, it is hoped that a deeper understanding of Indonesia will be built, as well as strengthening Indonesia-Kuwait cooperation that is sustainable and mutually beneficial.
