IJD, Jalan Daerah Payakumbuh-Sitangkai Sudah Ditangani 2,9 Km

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo reviewed the Inpres Road (IJD) section of Payakumbuh-Sitangkai in West Sumatra (Sumbar), not long ago.

Until now, the PU Ministry has handled 2.9 kilometers (km) of the IJD Payakumbuh-Sitangkai section. Meanwhile, the remaining handling will continue gradually this year.

"About 2.9 km has been completed. The rest we will start in 2026. For the continuation of the section to Batusangkar, about 25 km, God willing, we can start again after this. Maybe in the middle of the year," said Dody as quoted from a written statement, Friday, January 30.

The IJD Program is regulated in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 11 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of Improvement of Regional Road Connectivity to Support Food and Energy Self-sufficiency.

The policy was launched by President Prabowo Subianto to help local governments improve the quality of strategic regional roads, but was constrained by the budget.

Dody said that the handling of the IJD Payakumbuh-Sitangkai was a direct follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto's instructions.

"IJD is indeed one of the results of direct instructions from President Prabowo. We built almost 6 km with concrete. The rest was built with asphalt because there are many C mines here, if everything is built with asphalt, it is feared that it will not last long and there will be holes," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives Andre Rosiade appreciated the support of the Ministry of PU for the development of regional roads in West Sumatra.

"We are grateful to the central government through the Ministry of PU for allocating a budget of around Rp. 75 billion for the construction of this IJD Payakumbuh-Sitangkai. A total of 2.9 km was built with asphalt and the remaining 5.8 km was built with concrete," he explained.

Later, there will be an extension of the IJD construction along 25 km to Batusangkar. Andre also emphasized the importance of the role of local governments in maintaining the sustainability of the roads that have been built.

"We have conveyed this to the Governor of West Sumatra and he is committed to maintaining this road. Don't let the road be built, damaged in one or two years," he said.

West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi also stated the readiness of the West Sumatra Provincial Government (Pemprov) in supporting the policies and programs of the PU Ministry.

"We thank the PU Ministry. Insyaallah we are ready to support everything related to the provincial task. Including, controlling the use of this road in accordance with the permit we have given for material-carrying trucks," he explained.

During the working visit, Dody and his team also reviewed the proposal for handling the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Koto Baru Market and Payakumbuh Market in West Sumatra as part of the recovery of the community's economic infrastructure after the flood.

Regarding this, he emphasized the government's commitment to help the community rise better.

"We will first see its readiness, because the recommendations and basic design are already there. Next, we will work on the grand design and can continue to coordinate with the PU Ministry team in West Sumatra," he said.

After the DED is completed, the budget calculation will be released. According to Prabowo's instructions, said Dody, his party is obliged to help the community to rise better, especially in areas affected by flash floods.

"The role of this market is quite vital as the lifeline of the economy, so the most important thing is our joint commitment," he concluded.
