KPK Investigates Flow of Corruption Money for Papua Regional Head's Operational Support Funds Through Car Showroom Owner
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the flow of corrupt money for operational support funds and programs to improve the service of heads and deputy heads of the Papua Provincial Government. A witness, the owner of a car named Hendri Utama, was questioned by investigators.
This examination was carried out at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, January 30.
"During the examination, investigators investigated the witness's knowledge regarding the flow of money in the alleged corruption case in the management of operational support funds in the Papua Provincial Government environment," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters through his written statement, Friday, January 30.
Meanwhile, based on the information obtained, investigators actually confiscated the mobile phone or gadget carried by Hendri. There was a resistance even though the forced attempt was successful.
Budi did not answer this information further when confirmed. "We will check it later," he said.
Even so, Budi emphasized that if the seizure was actually carried out by investigators, it meant that there was indeed evidence needed to complete the legal process developed from the case that ensnared former Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe.
"This means that there is a need for investigators for the evidence to help uncover this case," he said.
As previously reported, the KPK is investigating alleged corruption in the abuse of authority related to the Operational Support Fund and the Service Improvement Program for Regional Heads and Deputy Regional Heads of the Papua Provincial Government. The state's losses due to this practice are said to have reached IDR 1.2 trillion.
There is already one suspect who has been appointed by the anti-corruption commission. He is Dius Enumbi who is the Treasurer of the Expenditure of the Regional Head of the Papua Province.
However, the KPK has not officially announced the determination of the suspect. Usually, the legal status of a person in a corruption case will be conveyed through a press conference accompanied by detention.
