Pramono Inaugurates Roci Cilincing Rabbit Park
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo inaugurated the Cilincing Rorotan Rabbit Park (Roci) on Jalan Kaliabang, Cilincing, North Jakarta, which was once one of the slums.
"This park is indeed part of the green open space encouraged by the DKI Jakarta Government," said Pramono as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 30.
The Roci Rabbit Park was built on an area of 2,711.4 square meters. This park is equipped with various supporting facilities, such as retention ponds, children's play areas, gazebos, plazas, urban farming areas, toilets, and shelters.
Pramono said the park serves to expand and improve the quality of green open space (RTH) in the DKI Jakarta area. Moreover, Rorotan is known to have the characteristics of paddy fields that function as a water buffer area in the North Jakarta area.
Therefore, the Roci Rabbit Park is designed as a public space that integrates the function of green space with ecological functions, especially in supporting water management and environmental balance.
The existence of a retention pond in the park area is also expected to help control water, while other facilities support social activities, recreation, and education for the community.
Apart from being a recreational space, Roci Rabbit Park is designed as a social interaction and environmental education space for residents around because it is equipped with urban farming areas and rabbit animal areas.
Furthermore, Pramono emphasized that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) is now allowing for the construction of smaller parks.
Because, he assessed that the more parks that are built, the more benefits they will provide for the community.
"If in the past it was made big, now even small, it has always brought benefits to the community, I allow it to be developed, and this is one example," said Pramono.
During the event, Pramono also symbolically provided assistance in the form of money to 100 residents who were victims of strong winds in Kalibaru Village.
