Tambun Sungai Angke Bekasi Still Trapped in Flood up to 1.5 Meters

JAKARTA - Tambun Sungai Angke Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency, is still trapped in a flood of 80 centimeters to 1.5 meters until entering the third week.

As of Friday (30/1), based on ANTARA's monitoring, water puddles with a height of 80 centimeters to 1.5 meters are still submerging hundreds of residents' houses and have not shown signs of receding.

The flood was triggered by the overflowing of irrigation rivers that were no longer able to accommodate the water discharge. This condition was exacerbated by the high intensity of rain and the overflow of rivers that crossed the residential area.

One of the affected residents, Syaifulloh HR, said the flood in Tambun Sungai Angke had lasted for approximately 21 days since the beginning of January 2026.

"The flood in Tambun Sungai Angke has been going on for about 21 days or three weeks, from around January 9 to January 30. The water level ranges from 80 centimeters to 150 centimeters or one and a half meters. Since early Friday morning until morning heavy rain also hit this area," said Syaifulloh HR when met in Tambun Sungai Angke, Bekasi, Friday.

According to the Chairman of the MUI of Pahlawan Setia Village, the most severely affected area is in RW 06 Village 3 with a water height of 150 centimeters, while in RW 05 the water height ranges from 80 to 100 centimeters.

Syaifulloh hopes that the local government will immediately distribute food aid to affected people. The reason is that most of the residents of Tambun Sungai Angke depend on their livelihood as traders and farmers, who are now having difficulty in their activities due to prolonged flooding.

"Most of the people's livelihoods are traders and farmers. Because the flood has been going on for a long time, it is difficult for residents to try and trade. The rice fields are also flooded and have a big impact on farmers," he said.

Apart from logistical assistance, he continued, residents also asked for periodic medical services. The long-lasting flood caused many residents to experience fever, itching, and skin diseases.

"Treatment is important because the flood has been going on for a long time. Many residents have health problems, such as fever and skin diseases," he said.

Not only that, residents also urged the local government to immediately open and normalize the water channel to Segara Jaya so that the flood could quickly recede.

According to Syaifulloh, the culverts and water channels from Tambun Angke River to Segara Jaya have been dredged and have not been dredged for a long time, so that the water flow is blocked.

"The water channel to Segara Jaya is shallow and has not been normalized for a long time. Because the water channel is clogged, the flood in Tambun Sungai Angke has long been receding, it can be weeks. Here it is like a parking lot for water," said Syaifulloh.

Until now, residents hope for quick and concrete steps from the government to overcome the flooding that continues to linger and prevent similar incidents from being repeated in the future.

Due to the flood, several schools around the Tambun Sungai Angke area, such as MI Attaqwa 41, SMP Attaqwa 13, and SDIT Samba Taruma, carried out online learning.

Meanwhile, several housing affected by flooding in the Tambun Sungai Angke, Tarumajaya, Bekasi areas, including the Griya Rahmani Housing, Leticia Mansion Housing, Bumi Sakinah 2, and Villa Mutiara Mas 1 and 2.

According to ANTARA's monitoring, the water level in Villa Mutiara Mas 1 and 2 and Bumi Sakinah 2 ranges from 30 to 45 centimeters. Meanwhile, for Griya Rahmani Housing and Leticia Mansion Housing, it ranges from 30 to 60 centimeters (cm).
