10 Suspected Terrorists In Merauke Immigrants Who Allegiance To ISIS, Plan Church And Police Terror

JAKARTA - The National Police said that the 10 suspected terrorists arrested in Merauke, Papua were migrants who had been living for a long time. From the examination they pledged allegiance to ISIS.

"Of course, of the 10 people, judging by their names, they are people from Java and from Sulawesi who have lived there for a long time in Merauke," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono to reporters, Monday, May 31.

In addition, these terrorist suspects already have plans to attack the police. They also target churches.

"The person concerned has also taken an oath of allegiance or allegiance to ISIS. The person concerned is planning terrorist acts at the church in Merauke, the Merauke Police Station and the Merauke Traffic Traffic Unit. That is the target," said Argo.

Argo also detailed some of the evidence seized from the suspected terrorists. They were found to have air rifles to chemical liquids.

"So there are some evidences found there such as air rifles, sharp weapons, and also arrow equipment. Then there are also some liquids that are still under investigation that we found there," said Argo.

"We are still investigating whether the liquid was, what was in it, the liquid or if there were some other chemical equipment that was there that was found," continued Argo.

Previously reported, Densus 88 Anti-terror arrested 10 terrorists in Merauke. They are AK, SB, ZR, UAT, DS, SD, WS, YK, AP, and IK. And out of 10 people there are husband and wife pairs, namely AP and IK (female).

Based on the investigation, they are related to the suicide bombing at the Makassar Cathedral church.
