Nadiem Makariem: 1.54 Million Educators-Educational Personnel Have Been Vaccinated With COVID-19, Target Is 5.6 Million People
JAKARTA - Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudristek) Nadiem Anwar Makarim said as many as 1.54 million educators and education personnel have received the COVID-19 vaccination.
"To date, 1.54 million educators and education personnel have received vaccinations, or about 28 percent of the target of 5.6 million educators and education personnel," Nadiem said at the House of Representatives Commission X Working Meeting monitored in Jakarta, Monday.
Nadiem explained that in only a relatively short time, millions of educators and education personnel received vaccinations. He gave his appreciation to the Ministry of Health, the COVID-19 Task Force at both central and regional levels, the Ministry of Education and Culture team and the regional education office.
The rate of vaccination of educators and education personnel was hampered because the Ministry of Health experienced an issue of vaccine availability (imports) in April.
Currently, the availability of vaccines is no longer a problem because the Ministry of Health ensures the import of vaccines so that the total vaccines that have been received are 75 million.
"However, there are differences between educators and education staff receiving vaccinations for each region," he added.
In DKI Jakarta, as many as 123,000 educators and education personnel have received vaccinations or about 78 percent. Likewise in DI Yogyakarta, as many as 75 percent of educators and education personnel have received vaccinations or around 63,000 educators and education personnel.
The national average for educators and education personnel who received vaccination was 28 percent. However, this condition is different from North Maluku by three percent and Aceh by two percent.
Nadiem is optimistic that the vaccination target of 5.6 million educators and education personnel will receive vaccinations. To accelerate this, the Ministry of Education and Culture will mobilize 13,000 vaccinators from state universities, private universities and higher education institutions in the health sector.
