JAKARTA - Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming carried out a working visit to Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, Friday, January 30, to ensure that the post-disaster recovery process for flash floods and landslides runs optimally.
Based on information from the Vice President's Secretariat Bureau quoted from Antara, the visit was carried out about two months after the region was hit by a fairly severe disaster at the end of last year.
The Vice President and his limited entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base at 06.30 WIB to Soewondo Airport, Medan. From there, the journey continued by helicopter to Aceh Tamiang Regency.
Upon arrival at the Bima Patra Field runway at around 09.27 WIB, the Vice President was scheduled to immediately review the learning activities at SMP Negeri 1 Karang Baru to ensure that education services for students continued to run normally despite being affected by the disaster.
In addition to reviewing the school, the Vice President is also scheduled to visit the Aceh Tamiang Regional Hospital to see the readiness of health services, evacuation posts, and the location of the construction of temporary housing for affected residents.
This visit confirms the government's commitment to overseeing post-disaster recovery while accelerating the development of basic community facilities, ranging from education, health, to housing.
This step is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's instructions which emphasize the importance of the state's presence quickly and visibly in every stage of disaster management, from emergency response to long-term recovery.
The President also instructed the ministries and local governments to synergize so that the affected people not only recover physically, but also regain access to education, health services, and decent housing on an ongoing basis.
