Prabowo Speeds Up 141 Thousand Units of Rusun, Cikarang as the First Location
President Prabowo Subianto received a report from the Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning (PKP) Maruarar Sirait regarding the stages of construction of a subsidized apartment complex on an area of 30 hectares in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency.
The report was delivered directly by Maruarar when he met with President Prabowo at Prabowo's private residence in Bukit Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, Thursday.
The Secretary of the Cabinet (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya was quoted by Antara, Friday, January 30, explaining that the meeting between President Prabowo and Maruarar lasted more than 1 hour.
"In the more than 1 hour meeting, several things related to housing were discussed, namely the implementation of land clearing of an area of 30 hectares for subsidized flats in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency; the completion of the groundbreaking plan for 141,000 subsidized houses which will later be spread across the 3 adjacent areas," said the Secretary of the Cabinet, Teddy, explaining the points of Maruarar's report to the President.
Then, the Minister of Housing, as conveyed by the Secretary of State Teddy, also reported to the President that the location of the apartment building to be built was adjacent to the city, and with access to facilities in general, whether it was schools, hospitals, offices, factories, and major roads.
"With the construction, it is estimated that around 80,000 workers in all sectors will be absorbed and accelerate the circulation of the economic chain," continued Teddy explaining the contents of the Maruarar report.
Teddy emphasized that President Prabowo through the Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning wants as many Indonesian citizens as possible to have affordable decent housing for all levels of society.
"One of the steps is the existence of subsidized decent houses and the reduction of all forms of permits and permit and administrative costs," said Teddy.
On a separate occasion, the Minister of Housing stated that he targeted to build hundreds of subsidized apartment units by 2026.
"We will ensure that hundreds of subsidized houses are built this year, in 2026," said the Minister of Housing in the event of Increasing Synergy and Coordination of the Implementation of the Strategic Program for the Housing Sector in 2026 in Jakarta, Thursday (15/1) last week.
Ara, a nickname for Maruarar, then explained that the current government is finalizing the rules related to subsidized flats so that the implementation of the target can be achieved.
"We will mature the rules, we will continue to meet with developers, then also the banks, I also ask that prospective consumers be involved to ensure this is successful," said Ara.
