Defense Ministry: Porsche Cayenne Car Not Registered as Government Vehicle

JAKARTA - The Head of the Defense Information and Public Relations Bureau (Karo Humas Infohan) of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan), Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, confirmed that the Porsche Cayenne car using the Kemenhan service number plate was not registered as a service vehicle, Thursday.

This was conveyed by Rico after previously going viral on social media there was a luxury vehicle, namely a Porsche Cayenne using the Ministry of Defense license plate.

Rico said the inspection of the car started from a Porsche Cayenne car that used the Ministry of Defense license plate 50212-00 was seen in the area of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta.

The findings were known when officers carried out a routine inspection on Wednesday (28/1).

From the results of the examination and administrative checks, the vehicle was not recorded as a service vehicle. Meanwhile, the license plate number used was not in accordance with the inventory data.

Based on these findings, officers arrested the driver and seized the car to be handed over to the East Jakarta Metro Police for handling in accordance with applicable laws.

The handover process was carried out through inter-agency coordination, with a Letter of Evidence Report No. STTLP/B/371/I/2026/SPKT/Polres Metro Jakarta Timur.

Riko ensured that the Ministry of Defense expressed a firm stance against any form of abuse of state attributes as was done by the car driver.

"We do not tolerate the use of official attributes illegally. Any findings will be followed up and coordinated with law enforcement officials, so that the process runs according to the rules," he said.
