PPATK: Turnover of Online Gambling Money 2025 Decreased 20 Percent to Rp359 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center (PPATK) recorded the turnover of online gambling funds (judol) in 2025 decreased 20 percent year on year (yoy) to Rp. 286.84 trillion, compared to the previous period of Rp. 359.81 trillion.

PPATK Public Relations Sub-Group Coordinator M. Natsir Kongah explained that the circulation of the judol funds during 2025 was carried out in 422.1 million transactions.

In addition, PPATK noted the trend of declining turnover of judol funds was also followed by a decrease in the number of judol deposits which in 2025 amounted to IDR 36.01 trillion, down from 2024 of IDR 51.3 trillion.

A total of 12.3 million people made judol deposits through several channels such as banks, digital wallets (e-wallets), and QRIS.

According to PPATK, there is a change in the modus operandi of depositing deposits using QRIS which has increased significantly compared to deposits in banks or ne-wallets.

"The decline in the total nominal deposit and the number of judol fund turnover is due to the implementation of the right strategy and good collaboration between the government and the private sector in efforts to prevent and eradicate judol on various sides," said Natsir.

Apart from the judol case, several origin criminal cases (TPA) that are the focus of PPATK and investigators in eradicating money laundering (TPPU) crimes include those related to green financial crimes.

From the mining sector, PPATK has submitted 27 analysis results and 2 information related to this sector with a transaction value of 517.47 trillion.

One of the concerns of PPATK is the alleged unlicensed gold mining (PETI) in various regions of Indonesia, including illegal gold distribution spread in Papua, West Kalimantan, Sulawesi, North Sumatra, Java Island, and other islands, as well as the practice of flow of gold from PETI to foreign markets.

During the period 2023-2025, PPATK noted, the total nominal value of transactions suspected of being related to PETI reached IDR 185.03 trillion, with a total fund turnover of IDR 992 trillion.

In the environmental sector, PPATK has submitted 15 results of analysis and 1 result of examination with a nominal transaction of suspected criminal offenses reaching IDR 198.70 trillion.

One of the highlights is the case in the strategic commodity sector which is identified as one of the factors causing the scarcity and increase of strategic commodities in the country.

Meanwhile, in the forestry sector, PPATK has submitted 3 analysis results to the Ministry of Forestry with a transaction value of Rp. 137 billion.

This transaction value is suspected to be a transaction of buying and selling wood originating from illegal logging because no Wood Legality Verification Certificate was found which is the main prerequisite for the legality of forestry business.

Meanwhile, during 2025, PPATK has submitted a total of 1,540 financial intelligence products (PPATK PIK), of which as many as 373 or about 24.22 percent are related to suspected acts of origin (TPA) of corruption with a total nominal turnover of transactions reaching Rp. 180.87 trillion.

In addition, there are 178 PPATK PIK (11.56 percent) related to suspected TPA in the field of taxation with a total turnover of funds reaching IDR 934.52 trillion, and 156 PPATK PIK (10.13 percent) related to suspected TPA fraud with a total value of transactions analyzed reaching IDR 22.53 trillion.
