COVID-19 Update As Of May 31: 5,662 New Cases, Accumulated Cases 1,821,703
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 67,861 specimens were examined with the result that there were 5,662 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,821,703 people and today's active cases have increased by 367 to 102,006 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Monday, May 31.
Today's recovered cases increased by 5,121 cases, bringing the total to 1,669,119 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 174 people and a total of 50,578 people.
The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 1,316 cases and a total of 313,949 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 881 new cases with a total of 200,086 cases. DKI Jakarta has 726 new cases and a total of 430,059 cases. Then, Riau has 473 new cases and a total of 60,070 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 1,200 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 581 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 575 recovered cases, and Riau with an additional 500 recovered cases.
There are two provinces that reported no new cases today. Provinces that reported zero new cases were West Sulawesi and Papua.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 16,728,343.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 13.93 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 56,125 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
Currently, there are 16,413,672 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 10,631,835 of the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
