DPR Demands SP3 Hogi Minaya Case, Suspects the Death of Two Jambrets

JAKARTA - Commission III of the DPR has asked for the case of Hogi Minaya (43), a suspect in an accident that killed two perpetrators of jambret, to be stopped or SP3.

Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman, said that the request was one of the conclusions of a meeting between the Sleman Police Chief, the Head of the Sleman District Attorney's Office, and the Hogi family at the Senayan parliament complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 28.

"We concluded by asking that, yes, this case be stopped," he told reporters.

Habiburokhman emphasized that his party did not ask for the case to be resolved through restorative justice, but was immediately stopped. According to him, Hogi did not have evil intentions (mens rea) when defending his wife until causing an accident that killed the victim.

In addition, the incident only involved one criminal act, namely snatching Hogi's wife. Because the snatcher had died, the case was automatically dropped.

This is in accordance with Article 65 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the New Criminal Code which regulates the concurrence of criminal acts. This request for termination of the investigation will be sent directly to the Attorney General and the National Police Chief.

"Administratively, the letter (request for termination of the case) has been signed by us," said Habiburokhman.

Meanwhile, Hogi Minaya's wife, Astri Minaya, admitted that she was grateful that her husband's case would be stopped. He said his husband deserved to be released from the status of a suspect who killed the two suspected robbers.

"Alhamdulillah, my husband and I have received justice as fair as possible. My husband today has received justice, the freedom that we first asked for. Alhamdulillah, matur nuwun," he said.
