Dozens Of Houses In Deli Serdang Were Damaged By A Tornado
MEDAN - Dozens of houses in Patumbak District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, were damaged by a tornado.
Monitoring at the location, one of the houses of the affected residents suffered damage to the zinc roof which was lost by the wind.
An owner of the damaged house, Evi Daulay, said there was a tornado at 14.00 WIB, Sunday, May 31. At that time the conditions were still in a state of light rain.
"At first it was drizzling. Then came heavy rain and very strong winds," he said, Monday, May 31.
The rain, which was accompanied by ice and strong winds, brought his tin roof.
"So the hail came, the strong winds came and then our zinc flew from behind," he said.
When the incident happened, he and his family immediately ran out of the house.
"So when it happened, I was washing clothes. We immediately ran out of the house," he said.
He hopes that there will be assistance from the government to immediately repair his house so that when it rains his house does not get water.
"Yes, we ask for help repairing this house. Who knows when the rain will come again, we don't know where to go. Anyway, we really hope that it will be repaired," he hoped.
Meanwhile, the Head of Development Affairs for the Marindal Village Office, Suwitno, said 12 houses in the location were damaged in the seng section.
"There are 12 houses that were damaged, of which 4 houses were slightly damaged, 4 houses were moderately damaged, 4 houses were heavily damaged," he told reporters.
Currently, officers from BPBD and local Puskesmas are reviewing and providing assistance to residents affected by the disaster.
