Landslide Occurred at Ceking Tourist Spot, 1 Car and 5 Motor Damaged by Tree 

GIANYAR - A landslide occurred on the Ceking tourist road which is located on Jalan Raya Ceking, Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency, Bali.

Head of Public Relations of Gianyar Police, Ipda Gusti Ngurah Suardita, said that landslides and fallen trees hit 1 unit of Hiace car and 5 motorbikes.

"The land that collapsed had a height of approximately 14 meters x 10 meters and a cempaka tree with a height of 20 meters with a diameter of 60 centimeters," said Ipda Suardita, Wednesday, January 28.

He ensured that there were no casualties. According to him, the damaged vehicle was parked at the cafe. Meanwhile, the Ceking Highway was closed by landslide material and fallen trees.

Currently, the Tegallalang Police personnel together with the BPBD Gianyar, assisted by the community, are still carrying out material cleaning and arranging traffic flow on the Ceking Tegallalang highway and diverted to the Banjar Gagah route while the road cannot be passed.

"Landslides accompanied by fallen trees are caused by unstable soil and high rainfall. Currently, the cleaning of soil materials and fallen cempaka trees is still ongoing. Traffic flow is still diverted. The public is urged to always be careful, do not park under large trees and cliffs because of extreme weather rain," he said.
