Not Only Lebanon and Palestinian Gaza, the Israeli Military Continues to Attack Syria

JAKARTA - Israel is really unstoppable in international law for carrying out military attacks on the Gaza Strip in Palestine, Lebanon to Syria, in close proximity.

Al Jazeera reported that Israeli artillery and military aircraft continued to hit the east of Khan Younis City in the southern Gaza Strip since early Wednesday, January 28.

The attack was carried out despite a US-mediated ceasefire that has been in place for more than three months.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes carried out three air raids on evacuated houses east of the town of Deir el-Balah in the center, in an area under the control of the Israeli military.

In Jabalia north of the Gaza Strip, local sources said at least two explosions occurred as Israeli soldiers carried out demolition operations.

The Israeli military also fired into the neighborhood east of Gaza City.

Still in the Middle East, the Syrian government news agency, SANA, reported that Israeli forces carried out a military attack in an operation in Quneitra Province, Syria, Wednesday, January 28.

As many as eight Israeli military vehicles raided the village of Ain al-Qadi to arrest a man. Meanwhile, a number of other soldiers set up checkpoints in the area.

The arrest follows an Israeli army attack on the Old City of Quneitra on Tuesday, January 27, in which they destroyed a number of buildings.

On Monday, January 26, Israel bombed Tyre, southern Lebanon, killing a presenter of the Al-Manar TV station named Ali Nour el-Din.

Lebanon's Information Minister, Paul Morcos, condemned Israel for the journalist's murder. He stressed that Israel had repeatedly violated international law.

"We express our solidarity and condolences to the media family, and call on the international community to fully shoulder its responsibilities and take urgent action to end these violations and ensure the protection of media professionals in Lebanon," the minister said in a social media post.

Al-Manar TV confirmed the death of Nour el-Din in the Israeli attack on Tyre.

Prior to Nour el-Din's killing, the Committee to Protect Journalists noted that at least six Lebanese journalists have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon since 2023. Other monitors estimate that the number of journalists killed in Lebanon has reached 10 in that time.
