Mensesneg Emphasizes Again There is No Discussion of Reshuffle

JAKARTA - The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi stated that until now there has been no discussion regarding the reshuffle of the Red and White Cabinet.

This was conveyed by Prasetyo in response to various questions related to the dynamics of the cabinet, including the issue of filling a number of cabinet positions.

"There is none," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 28.

Prasetyo explained that there was no shuffling in the sense of a cabinet reshuffle. The changes that have occurred so far are only related to the transfer of the assignment of Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono, who is currently undergoing the process to serve as Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia.

"If the meaning ofreshuffleis because there is a process of switching the position of Deputy Minister of Finance to Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, which yesterday has gone through the fit and proper test process in the DPR, that is true. It means that there is, there is a position of Wamenkeu that was left by him because of assignment to another place," said Prasetyo.

Regarding the vacancy of the position of Deputy Minister of Finance, Prasetyo emphasized that until now there has been no decision to fill the position.

According to him, the government is still waiting for the completion of the entire process of appointing the Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia which is currently underway.

He also dismissed discussions regarding the candidate for the Deputy Minister of Finance, including the number of deputy ministers who will fill the post.

According to Prasetyo, the President will first conduct a study and ask for input from the Minister of Finance before making a decision.

"The President will certainly conduct a kind of study and ask for an opinion, of course, with the Minister of Finance regarding the re-filling of the position of Wamenkeu which was previously filled by Mr. Thomas Djiwandono, who will now serve at Bank Indonesia," he said.

Prasetyo stated that there were no plans to reshuffle in other ministerial positions. He also emphasized that the issue of cabinet reshuffle had not been discussed internally at the Palace.

"Belum ada. Belum dibicarakan," tegasnya.

He also said that the President's agenda today only focuses on the inauguration of the DEN, without other agendas such as the establishment of the Acceleration Agency for the Development of People's Housing (BP3R).
