Elon Musk Predicts Robot Population Will Outnumber Humans in the Future

JAKARTA - Elon Musk, owner of X and Tesla, predicts that the number of robots in the world will eventually exceed the total population. This was conveyed when Musk attended the World Economic Forum (WEF).

In a discussion session with BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, the billionaire said that advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics will trigger an economic explosion. According to him, this technology will meet all human needs in the future.

"We're going to actually make so many robots and AI that human needs will be met in excess," Musk said, launching from Euronews on Wednesday, January 28. "My prediction is that there will be more robots than humans."

In his presentation, Musk said that the Optimus humanoid robot that Tesla developed would be employed this year at its factory. The robot will perform simple tasks before handling more complex and heavy work in the coming year.

Musk envisions that the world will be filled with robots that are safe enough to help with household chores, such as watching children or taking care of pets. According to him, AI will be smarter than any human by the end of 2026.

"Who wouldn't want a robot, assuming the robot is very safe, to watch over your children, take care of your pets?" Musk asked while speaking at an event held in Davos, Switzerland.

In addition to robots, Musk also discussed solutions to overcome human aging. Musk believes that scientists will find a way to overcome the problem of aging in the future by identifying the problem first.
