Strange Idea, Matches In Closed Stadiums Make La Liga Prepare Fake Audience Voices
JAKARTA - Football competitions in Europe's top leagues are still on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, a number of suggestions and plans are being drafted so that when the league returns it will not have a bad impact on the players.
According to a report by Spanish media, Sport, on Tuesday, La Liga is considering making fake crowd noises in the stadium when the match is played behind closed doors.
The newspaper reported that Spain's top-flight competition is doing everything it can to get back on track as soon as possible. So far, discussion has been going on around the match to be played without spectators.
If a competition is given the green light to be played back, one suggestion to consider is adding a recorded ambience sound. This is an attempt to make players feel more comfortable as well as to enhance the experience for fans at home.
The same bizarre suggestion also appeared in the Premier League. PFA (professional footballers' association) chairman Gordon Taylor suggested matches be played in less than 90 minutes when competition rolls around again.
This is considered to help players stay fit if the continuation of the competition is held with a 'catch-up' system so as not to damage the calendar for next season.
However, the most plausible is FIFA's proposal to use five substitutions per match for each team. FIFA realizes that clubs will face a stacked schedule when they finally return to action.
Therefore, in order to ease the workload of the players they allow two additional substitutions during the match, or a total of six substitutions if the match goes into extra time.
Organizers will have the option of implementing the new interim rules until the end of next season, while it will also apply to national team matches up to and including December 31, 2021.
