Reflecting the Case of the Arrested Ice Gabus Trader, the Central Jakarta Police Re-Builds Bhabinkamtibmas
JAKARTA - The Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Pol Renold Hutagalung, said he would rehabilitate Bhabinkamtibmas members who were in direct contact with the community so that they would be more careful in carrying out their duties.
"Of course, every finding in the regency must coordinate with the competent function first, so that it can provide the right and correct information and education to the community," said Renold in Jakarta, Wednesday.
According to him, the role of Bhabinkamtibmas in an area is indeed needed because they directly interact with the surrounding community.
So that it does not happen again, said Renold, his party always provides guidance to members, especially regarding the dynamics and the situation of public security and order.
"It must and must (have special training) related to the development of the dynamics of the situation of kamtibmas and its maintenance," said Renold.
Basically, continued Renold, the case of the ice keg occurred solely because two officers, namely Bhabinkamtibmas and Babinsa wanted to protect the community. However, they were too hasty, and did not coordinate with more competent parties so that misunderstandings arose.
"In fact, the intention of Bhabinkamtibmas and Babinsa is to protect the community, so that things that are not desirable or harmful to health do not happen, even if they seem to be overprotective for the community," said Renold.
Previously, the Central Jakarta Metro Police investigated the confession of a cork ice seller named Suderajat who was persecuted for selling ice that was allegedly made from dangerous materials in the form of sponges.
"We will clarify whether what was conveyed (by the cork ice trader) on social media is true or not," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jakarta Central Metro Police AKBP Roby Heri Saputra in Jakarta, Tuesday.
He said that while at the Kemayoran Police, the cork ice seller named Suderajat did not provide information that he had received physical violence.
After the confession, his party will trace and investigate what the trader experienced when he was secured.
"We also only received information because yesterday we did not receive information during the examination at the Kemayoran Police, Mr. Suderajat did not convey any information about being abused," said Roby.
