Justin Baldoni's Case, Ryan Reynolds Defends His Wife After His Message Was Revealed to the Public
JAKARTA - Ryan Reynolds spoke through his representative after his personal messages were leaked to the public. The message appeared amid the conflict between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni who played the main roles in the film It Ends With Us.
Several of Reynolds' messages were released as documents from the case. The message sent in August 2024, along with the film It Ends With Us, directed by Justin Baldoni and starring Blake Lively, was a box office success in theaters.
Even so, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni were already in conflict before the film's release. Messages sent by Ryan Reynolds contained his frustration with Baldoni.
One message read, "I'm so frustrated because Blake should be celebrating this. He made this victory happen. Baldoni and stupidity should know the speculation and gossip there. They even deliberately participated, in a way that is not worthy, wow."
In a separate message, Reynolds exchanged messages with WME executives as the production house wrote messages calling Baldoni a predator.
Citing EW, a representative for Ryan Reynolds stated, "Yes, Ryan is involved. What husband wouldn't provide for his wife and the mother of his children?"
"He watched his wife fight to stand up to sexual harassment in a private and honorable way. For whatever it's worth, Ryan feels he didn't get angry enough. He believes and will continue to stand up for basic safety in the workplace free of harassment for wives and others. Now and always," the actor's representative explained.
The conflict between Blake Lively and Baldoni began in December 2024. Lively reported Baldoni for alleged sexual harassment and an alleged black campaign to tarnish Lively's name. He also sued Baldoni's production house, Wayfarer in New York.
Justin Baldoni then sued Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane for defamation, invasion of privacy, and breach of contract with damages of 400 million US dollars. His lawsuit was dismissed by the court in June after the court considered Lively's statement not to be a form of defamation.
