Grab Holds AI DevX Connect 2026, Fosters Local Talent to Manage Large-Scale AI

JAKARTA - Grab successfully held the Grab AI DevX Connect 2026 technology forum in Jakarta, as an effort to encourage the readiness of Indonesian digital talent in building and managing large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) systems.

This event brings together engineers, product leaders, data practitioners, and AI developers from Grab and the national technology ecosystem to have an open discussion on the responsible application of AI in real operational environments.

"Through AI DevX Connect, which is for the first time in Jakarta, Grab wants to share the reality behind the development of AI," said Head of Product Strategy & Product Operations at Grab, Anan Kasetra.

Through this event, Grab wants to equip digital and technology talents in Indonesia to be ready to face the management of large-scale AI systems that have an impact on society.

During the event, Grab also shared how to integrate AI into various functions, including engineering, product, data, marketing, and growth, to manage and support the complexity of the company's operations in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia.

This approach allows Grab to maintain the speed of innovation while implementing strong operational discipline in running a large-scale system.

"This ensures that the technology we build can work reliably, responsibly, and adaptively in various markets with different characteristics," added Anan.

Andreas Tjendra, AI National Advisor, as well as Director of Innovation Collaboration Research and Artificial Intelligence Innovation (KORIKA) appreciated Grab's initiative to present AI DevX Connect Indonesia 2026 in Jakarta.

"Indonesia has an economic opportunity from AI to 366 billion US dollars in 2030, but the realization of this value is highly dependent on the readiness of talent and the ability to run AI in complex systems by ensuring that humans remain in control," said Andreas.
