PERSAGI Sets a MURI Record through Simultaneous Nutrition Education in 1,800 Schools
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Nutritionists Association (PERSAGI) has again recorded achievements at the national level by winning the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) award.
The award was given for the success of PERSAGI in organizing simultaneous nutrition education activities in 1,800 schools spread across Indonesia.
This achievement is the culmination of the 66th National Nutrition Day (HGN) in 2026, as well as affirming the strategic role of nutritionists in the development of Indonesian human resources.
PERSAGI Chairman, Doddy Izwardi, expressed gratitude for the success of the national activity which took place smoothly and enthusiastically.
"Alhamdulillah, all PERSAGI leadership, senior council, and nutrition figures can gather and participate in this 66th HGN commemoration. This is an important moment to strengthen our joint commitment for better nutrition for the next generation of the nation," said Doddy at the event in Jakarta, Sunday, January 25.
Under the theme "Optimal Nutrition to Create a Golden Generation 2045", Doddy emphasized that the quality of the nation's future depends heavily on the current nutritional condition of the community.
"What we achieve in the next twenty years is determined by the steps we take today. Optimal nutrition is the main foundation," he said.
He also highlighted various positive achievements in the field of nutritional improvement, including a decrease in the national stunting rate to 19.8 percent. However, Doddy reminded that there were still serious challenges, such as malnutrition in some groups of the community and an increase in obesity cases.
"Efforts to promote and prevent through healthy living habits must continue to be strengthened," he added.
The MURI record breaking activity involved more than 55,400 participants, supported by around 5,000 nutrition educators, and was carried out in 1,800 schools as the starting point for a national-scale nutrition education movement.
According to Doddy, this achievement is not just a record, but a strong symbol of the collaboration of nutrition experts throughout Indonesia.
"This is not the end of the journey, but rather a tangible proof of the contribution and strategic role of nutritionists in nation-building," he said.
This program is also in line with the campaign to implement healthy living habits, as well as supporting the implementation of the nutrition fulfillment program through SPPG which has reached more than 1,025 target points.
Head of Public Health, DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office, dr. Octoviana Carolina, conveyed his appreciation for PERSAGI's contribution to improving the quality of Indonesian human resources.
"Nutrition is not only related to food, but is a long-term investment for the intelligence and competitiveness of the nation," he said.
He added that urban nutrition problems such as Jakarta have their own challenges, including an increase in cases of excess nutrition.
Deputy for Family Planning and Reproductive Health BKKBN, Wahidin, emphasized that the presence of nutritionists is very important in efforts to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates.
"Nutritional fulfillment, especially for pregnant women, nursing mothers, and non-PAUD toddlers, requires the active involvement of professional nutritionists," he said.
He hopes that by 2026 the scope of nutritional interventions can be expanded so that the target of reducing stunting to 5 percent by 2045 can be achieved.
Ministry of Health: Strengthening Nutrition Policy Continues to be Carried OutThe Director General of Primary Health of the Ministry of Health, Maria Endang Sumiwi, said that the government continues to strengthen policies and regulations in the field of nutritional fulfillment.
"In the last five years, the prevalence of pregnant women with malnutrition has been successfully reduced from 48 percent to 27 percent. However, this achievement still needs to be improved," he explained.
He also highlighted the high rate of anemia in toddlers and adolescents, as well as the importance of increasing the number of professional nutritionists.
"We still need more nutritionists and dietitians so that the nutrition fulfillment program can run more optimally," he said.
The Indonesian World Record Museum officially recorded PERSAGI's achievement with the number: 12608/MURI/2026 Category: Simultaneous Nutrition Education in the Most Schools
