SITUBONDO - The ranks of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Situbondo Police, East Java, arrested a man who committed a stabbing against the head of an elementary school and secured a piece of evidence.
Head of the Situbondo Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Agung Hartawan said that the perpetrator, whose initials are SDH (57), a resident of Bungatan Village/Subdistrict, has been detained and is undergoing an examination.
Meanwhile, the victim Sanusi Amrin (58), a resident of Selowogo Village, Bungatan District, is undergoing medical treatment in the ICU room of the Dr. Abdoer Rahem Hospital.
"We have also examined the witnesses and completed the administrative investigation so that this case can be completed soon," said Agung, Wednesday, January 28.
Agung said the stabbing incident against the victim, who was the head of SDN 2 Bungatan, occurred when the victim was riding a motorcycle to work, and suddenly the perpetrator intercepted the victim.
The motive for the stabbing incident that occurred on Tuesday (27/1) morning at around 06.30 WIB, was suspected to be due to personal revenge for past events. The perpetrator was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim until he finally took out a sharp weapon.
"The perpetrator is suspected of having a long-standing grudge against the victim, when the dispute escalated at the location, the perpetrator swung a machete towards the victim's face and head," said Agung.
As a result of his actions, SDH, who has been named a suspect, was charged with Article 468 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code regarding severe persecution, and the police ensured that they would process this case professionally and transparently in accordance with applicable laws.
