Mercedes-AMG Releases GLB 35 4MATIC Final Edition Only 100 Units in Japan
JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz Japan officially started the closing chapter for one of its most popular performance SUVs by launching the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC Final Edition on January 27, 2026. As a closing model that celebrates the success of the current GLB generation, this special edition comes with a very limited quota, namely only 100 units for the entire Japanese market.
The car is designed as a tough SUV inspired by the boxy silhouette of the G-Class but still agile enough to cut through big city traffic, complete with standard seven-passenger capacity.
Reported from the official website, it is said that this Final Edition model offers two solid body color options that are not available on the regular model, namely Night Black and MANUFAKTUR Alpine Grey. Each color is produced in 50 units with a slight price difference, namely 10.31 million yen (equivalent to Rp. 1.12 billion) for the black variant and 10.36 million yen (Rp. 1.13 billion) for the gray variant.
His dashing appearance is further emphasized by the AMG Night Package I and II package which gives black accents to all exterior details, from the front grille to the mirrors and logo on the back.
The aesthetic side is further complete with the use of 21-inch AMG aluminum wheels, one inch larger than the standard model, which are combined with red brake calipers to emphasize the dynamic impression. Entering the cabin, the interior luxury is dominated by black genuine leather seats and elegant black open-pore wood trim. Mercedes-Benz also spoils its owners by making premium optional features standard, including the Burmester Surround Sound audio system and a panoramic sliding roof that expands the view from inside the cabin.
Behind the engine hood, the GLB 35 Final Edition still relies on a 2.0 liter turbo engine with four cylinders code M260 which is capable of producing 306 PS of power and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. This brutal performance is combined with a 48V electrical system and a Belt-Driven Starter Generator (BSG) to ensure high efficiency without sacrificing comfort. Through the AMG Speedshift DCT 8-speed transmission, drivers are promised natural acceleration but still agile across the entire speed range.
The driving experience is even more emotional thanks to the exhaust system with automatic control valves whose sound can change according to the chosen driving mode, from a harmonious tone to a typical racing roar.
In terms of technology, this car is equipped with the latest driving assistance system and the MBUX interface which can be operated through the "Hi, Mercedes" voice command. Each unit is also equipped with a comprehensive warranty program "Mercedes Care" for three years without mileage restrictions.
Pre-orders have been opened through the online showroom until February 6, 2026, which allows prospective buyers to secure the vehicle by paying a deposit of 100 thousand yen. After that period, reservations will continue through the official Mercedes-Benz dealer network throughout Japan if units are still available.
Delivery of units to customers themselves is scheduled to begin gradually by the end of January 2026, marking a sweet farewell moment for the GLB 35 series in the Japanese market.
