The Latest Mazda MX-5 Miata Focuses on Interior Touch, Price Up

JAKARTA - Celebrating a decade of its presence at Mazda North American Operations (MNAO), the Mazda MX-5 Miata received an update that focuses on interior refinement.

Quoting from the Carscoops website, Wednesday, January 28, the difference is indeed very small, but the MX-5 Miata Club with the Brembo BBS Recaro Package gets a black Alcantara interior trim with a light gray contrast stitching.

The package includes Brembo front brakes with red front and rear calipers, BBS forged 17-inch gray-dark rims, and heated Recaro sport seats. Additional design features include an aerodynamic kit with glossy black side sill extensions and a rear bumper skirt.

That's all the update, but the price has increased by 600 US dollars or around Rp. 10 million for all product lines.

Talking about its heart, all MX-5 Miata models still use a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm, with a 7,500 rpm engine rev limit.

The standard six-speed manual transmission remains at the core of the MX-5 Miata driving experience. The Sport and Club models are exclusively offered with a manual transmission, while the Grand Touring model is available with a manual transmission or an optional six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.

Since its debut in 2016, the fourth-generation MX-5 Miata has benefited from the Japanese kaizen philosophy, where engineers continue to refine this sports car in an effort to achieve perfect driving pleasure.
