Loker Komdigi Viral Allegedly Shares Personal Data via Google Drive

JAKARTA - A video on social media uploaded by content creator Abil Sudarman has sparked public attention, after revealing irregularities in the recruitment process at the Ministry of Communication and Digital.

In a post uploaded on Tuesday, January 27 on Instagram, Abil mentioned that a job vacancy with a registration link at komdigi.go.id directed applicants to a Google Drive folder.

In the folder, applicants are asked to upload various personal documents, ranging from a curriculum vitae (CV), identity card (KTP), job application letter, health certificate, transcript of grades, to work experience letters.

But what is more dangerous is that Abil claims that all the folders belonging to other applicants in the drive can be accessed publicly.

"The problem is, all the applicants' data are visible on this Google Drive. All the folders are visible, the names are visible. So if you want to apply, you can open the personal data of other applicants. It's all naked, it can be opened," said Abil.

He assessed that this practice is high risk to the security of personal data and has the potential to violate the Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law).

"This is not just a strange practice, it violates the personal data protection law proposed by Komdigi itself. It is clear that you cannot dismantle personal data, but this is dismantling it yourself," he added.

Abil claimed that 2 hours after the post was uploaded, he had received many cyber attacks, which even tried to log into his social media account.

"At one o'clock this afternoon, ordal (his account call) received 6,000 cyber attacks, yes. And I don't want to say who it is from, we are still investigating, what is the digital forensics like. But what is clear is that from the motive, he didn't take anything, he didn't take anything valuable, he didn't take data, he just wanted to destroy it," said Abil.

Until now, the Ministry of Communication and Digital has not given any statement regarding the matter. Until this writing was made, the Komdigi party has also not responded to VOI's message to ask for clarification.
