BPK Ensures The State Loss Rp22.78 Trillion In The ASABRI Case: Stock Investment Funds Haven't Returned
JAKARTA - The Supreme Audit Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) concluded that there were irregularities against the laws and regulations carried out by related parties in the management of investment in shares and mutual funds at PT Asuransi Sosial Armed Forces of the Republic of Indonesia (ASABRI).
"The value of state losses arising as a result of irregularities or unlawful acts in the management of ASABRI's finances and investment funds during the period 2012 to 2019 is IDR 22.78 trillion," said Chairman of the Supreme BPK Firman Sampurna in a joint press conference with Attorney General ST Burhanuddin. , in Jakarta, Monday, May 31.
According to the Chairman of the BPK, the deviation resulted in state financial losses to ASABRI which was the value of investment funds placed in shares and mutual funds that were not in accordance with the provisions, and had not been returned until March 31, 2021.
It was also stated that the BPK had submitted an Investigative Examination Report on Calculation of State Losses on Financial Management and ASABRI Investment Funds for the period 2012 to 2019 to the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia since last week, Thursday, May 27.
"The examination is one form of BPK's support in eradicating corruption which is handled by law enforcement agencies, in this case the Attorney General's Office," he said.
Furthermore, the Chairman of the BPK also revealed that this examination was carried out in order to follow up on the request for calculating state losses submitted by the Attorney General's Office to BPK on January 15, 2021.
"BPK would like to thank the Attorney General's Office, OJK, Indonesia Stock Exchange, and the Financial Industry as well as other parties who have assisted BPK in carrying out this examination," he concluded.
