Hundreds Of Non-ASN Employees In Semarang Fired For Desperate Homecoming
SEMARANG - The Semarang City Government has laid off 484 non-ASN employees in the local government. The dismissal was carried out as a sanction for violations of the prohibition on going home during Eid last year.
Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi said the dismissal was in accordance with a circular letter regarding the prohibition of going home for ASN and non-ASN.
"After going through a long process. There are violations, the sanctions are in accordance with the circular," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 31.
In the circular, said Hendrar Prihadi, sanctions for ASN who violate the rules regarding the homecoming ban will be deducted from their income allowance for a month, while non-ASN can be dismissed.
There were also types of violations committed, he said, including forgetting to fill in attendance and filling in attendance from outside the city of Semarang.
"The point is they don't fill the presence of Semarang City," he said.
In addition to laying off hundreds of non-ASN employees, 185 civil servants of the Semarang City Government were sentenced to not receive an income allowance for a month.
Hendi emphasized that the ban on going home had been conveyed to the general public and employees within the Semarang City Government.
