Strong Wind Hits Roof of House to School in Cilincing, DKI Provincial Government Assures to Prepare Assistance
JAKARTA - Strong winds hit the Cilincing District area, North Jakarta, on Monday, January 26 in the early morning. This event caused damage to a number of residents' houses to public facilities such as schools.
The Mayor of North Jakarta, Hendra Hidayat, ensured that the DKI Provincial Government had prepared various assistance to affected residents ranging from tarpaulins to materials for building repairs.
"For our brothers and sisters in Kalibaru, then in Semper, we have prepared the assistance and since yesterday we have been moving to provide tarpaulins and so on. Including for material assistance, we have prepared," said Hendra in North Jakarta, Tuesday, January 27.
In addition, the DKI Provincial Government is also trying to ensure that the learning process at schools whose buildings are affected by strong winds can still run as usual.
"We have also coordinated with the Sub-Directorate, with the Education Office for the implementation of the assistance," said Hendra.
Based on data from the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), strong winds began to occur around 02.45 WIB and had an impact on a number of villages, namely Cilincing, Kalibaru, and Semper Timur.
Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD, Isnawa Adji, said that a total of 102 houses were affected by the incident. In addition to residents' houses, damage also occurred to a number of other buildings.
"Affected objects include 102 houses, 12 wooden warehouses, two schools, one mosque, and one mushola," Isnawa said in his statement.
In Kalibaru Village, the damage was spread across several RW and RT. In RW 06 RT 02, 12 houses and four wooden warehouses were recorded as affected, with a total of 16 families or 43 people. Meanwhile, in RW 07, the damage includes 34 houses, two schools, one mosque, and one mushola.
Damage also occurred in RW 08 RT 01 and 02 in the form of two houses and eight wooden warehouses, as well as in RW 12 RT 04 with 19 affected houses inhabited by 27 heads of households or 82 people.
Meanwhile, in the Semper Timur Village, strong winds damaged 20 houses located in RW 09 RT 03, 04, 05, 10, and 11. Meanwhile, in the Cilincing Village, as many as 15 houses in RW 09 RT 05 were reported to have been damaged.
BPBD DKI Jakarta ensures that there are no casualties in this incident. Until now, the estimate of losses is still in the process of data collection.
