Purbaya suggests that Juda Agung has the opportunity to become Wamenkeu
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa spoke about the figure who has the potential to fill the position of Deputy Minister of Finance to replace Thomas Djiwandono.
As is known, Thomas Djiwandono officially took the position of Deputy Governor of BI, after previously serving as Deputy Minister of Finance.
Purbaya said that he could not provide further information regarding Thomas' replacement because he was still waiting for a formal decision from the President.
"I said I shouldn't talk first, I have to listen," he told the media, Tuesday, January 27.
However, he did not deny the name that had circulated internally, namely Juda Agung, who previously served as Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia.
When confirmed about the truth of the name, Purbaya gave a signal that Juda Agung was indeed one of the strongest candidates to fill the position of Deputy Minister of Finance.
He also did not deny the issue of a job exchange, where Thomas Djiwandono switched to Bank Indonesia and Juda Agung entered the Ministry of Finance.
"Yes, the leak (is it true sir?) seems to be, it seems to be that I have met with him (Juda) and it seems to be a candidate, one of the strong candidates," he said.
Regarding other candidates, Purbaya admitted that he did not know and emphasized that the decision was entirely in the hands of President Prabowo Subianto.
Purbaya also said that the inauguration of the Deputy Minister of Finance is likely to be carried out in February.
"I hear it's February. Some say it should be February. What's the date now? (January 27). That means next week maybe," he said.
