Suspected of Violating Customs, Customs Detains Goods Issued Without Permission

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Customs and Excise has found customs violations in the bonded area, Cileungsi, Bogor Regency. The company holding the customs facility, allegedly issued production goods without the permission of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. This case was revealed after the PPNS Customs and Excise carried out a hand-in-hand at 18.00 WIB on May 22, 2025 on the Bogor Highway in the direction of Cilangkap. Officers stopped a shuttle bus for PT GAN employees that had been modified and used to transport production goods from the Cileungsi bonded area to the old PT GAN factory in Sukmajaya, Depok City, without official discharge documents. The action was based on the Incident Report Number LK-04/KBC.0901/PPNS/2025 and the Investigation Task Order Number SPTP-04/KBC.0901/PPNS/2025, and refers to Article 112 paragraph (2) letter b of the Customs Law Number 10 of 1995 as amended by Law Number 17 of 2006.

In the action, the officers confiscated the bus and its cargo with an estimated value of around IDR 66 million. The goods that were secured included batteries, electric pumps, faucet, sprayers, chargers, and various other production components. All of these goods should only be able to be removed from the bonded area after obtaining the approval of the Customs and the payment of state obligations. The PPNS Customs also detained the bus driver for 1×24 hours and examined a number of parties, including security officers and the company's administrative staff. Furthermore, the West Java Customs Regional Office conducted an investigative audit of PT GAN in the period from May 27 to August 27, 2025. The initial results of the examination indicate that the expenditure of goods without permission was suspected of not only occurring once. On July 30, 2025, a number of PT GAN employees were examined as witnesses. From the witness's testimony, the investigators investigated the alleged involvement of the company's management in the practice of illegal goods expenditure. Further audits were carried out until November 27, 2025. One of the Bogor Customs auditors stated that the payment of state losses did not remove the criminal element if there was an indication of repeated violations.
