JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) immediately summoned the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Lili Pintauli Siregar.

This summons was made because he was allegedly contacted by the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor M Syahrial regarding the handling of the alleged corruption case.

"We have collected information. Of course, soon we will investigate (Lili Pintauli, ed)," said Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean, chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board, to reporters at the KPK ACLC Building, Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Monday, May 31. .

He did not specify what information he had collected. However, all of this information will be confronted in an unscheduled examination.

If there is a violation, Tumpak ensured, the supervisory board will not hesitate to take action. Moreover, if Lili is proven to have helped M Syahrial, who is a party to the case.

"If it is true that there is an ethical violation or if what is informed is true, of course we will carry out a thorough examination," he said.

Previously reported, Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Lili Pintauli Siregar denied that she had ever communicated with the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M Syahrial. In addition, he also emphasized that he had never helped in handling the corruption case that ensnared the politician.

This was conveyed by him to clarify the information circulating, related to M Syahrial who was a bribe to the KPK investigators from the AKP police element Stepanus Robin Pattuju trying to contact him.

"That I firmly say that I have never communicated with the suspect MS regarding the handling of the case in question, let alone assisting in the handling of cases being handled by the KPK," said Lili at a press conference, Friday, April 30.

The information related to the communication between M Syahrial and Lili Pintauli was conveyed by the Anti-Corruption Community Coordinator (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman. However, Boyamin did not know the continuation of this communication effort.

In the bribery case related to the termination of the case at the Tanjungbalai City Government, the KPK has determined and detained three people. They are KPK investigators from the Bhayangkara Corps element AKP Stepanus Robin Pattuju, Tanjungbalai Mayor M Syahrial, and lawyer Maskur Husain.

In this case, Stepanus and Maskur are suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or letter b or Article 11 and Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) k-1 of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, MS is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph 1 letter a or b or Article 12 of the Corruption Eradication Law.
