Sultan Hotel's Hearing Postponed, Legal Representative Comes Without Power of Attorney
JAKARTA - The court's reprimand process before the execution of Block 15 Gelora Bung Karno land (ex-Sultan Hotel) stalled. PT Indobuildco's legal representative was present at the Central Jakarta District Court, Monday (26/1), but did not bring an official power of attorney. The presence was considered legally invalid.
This information was obtained from the court's bailiff and was conveyed by the government's legal team. This condition is considered potentially slowing down the execution process.
"According to information from the court, their arrival was not considered valid because they did not bring a power of attorney. We suspect this is an attempt to buy time," said Kharis Sucipto, lawyer for the Minister of State Secretary and PPKGBK.
He assessed that the basic documents for this important agenda should have been prepared. Moreover, the call for the trial had been sent earlier.
Despite the procedural obstacles, the government's legal team confirmed that the decision of the Central Jakarta PN Number 208/Pdt.G/2025/PN.Jkt.Pst is still valid. The decision can be immediately implemented even though there are still legal efforts.
Kharis said that the right to use buildings (HGB) of PT Indobuildco on state land had expired in March-April 2023. The extension was not processed, and the land and buildings on it were declared as state property.
The government and PPKGBK stated that they would continue to take steps to save state assets in the area, including the Sultan Hotel and apartments, and asked the court not to give room for delays without legal grounds.
