Chery to Release 7 New Models by 2026 in Indonesia, Including Diesel Cars
Chery Indonesia is preparing to expand its product portfolio in the country throughout 2026. No small matter, at least 7 new models will be introduced, including diesel-powered vehicles that mark the new step of the Chinese manufacturer.
The new product line is expected to enrich consumer choices, as well as answer various market needs, ranging from family vehicles to tough-character models. The launch plan covers various segments.
Which, starting from the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) model, a 7-passenger vehicle, an offroad SUV, an SUV with a capacity of 6-7 passengers, an electric city car, to a CSH Diesel Double Cabin. The certainty was conveyed directly by the Vice Country Director of the Chery Business Unit, Budi Darmawan Jantania.
"So in 2026 all lines, whether it's ICE, CSH, EV and diesel will be equipped gradually. We will start launching it at IIMS 2026 but before that there will be an event first," said Budi Darmawan Jantania to reporters, last weekend.
Specifically for the diesel model, Chery targets its presence by the end of 2026. The vehicle is prepared in the pickup format, but is still designed to be flexible to support daily activities.
"We will enter the fleet and private user segments. So Chery not only follows the current trend but also makes breakthroughs through vehicles," he added.
This aggressive move is in line with Chery's sales performance throughout 2025 which is quite impressive. The Chinese manufacturer recorded retail sales of 19,485 units, a sharp jump compared to 2024 which only reached 8,626 units.
This means that there was a growth of 10,859 units or equivalent to 125.9 percent. This achievement also increased Chery's market share to 2.3 percent, up from the previous 1 percent, and placed this brand in the 12th position on the list of Indonesia's best-selling car manufacturers.
On the distribution side, Chery also posted positive performance. Throughout 2025, shipments from the factory to the dealer network (wholesales) reached 19,391 units, an increase of 10,200 units or 111 percent compared to the previous year which was 9,191 units.
