Yamal Praised by Coach Against: Like a Player from Another Galaxy

JAKARTA - Real Oviedo manager Guillermo Almada called Lamine Yamal a player from another galaxy after scoring a beautiful goal for Barcelona in the LaLiga match between the two teams on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Yamal scored the third goal with an acrobatic kick inside the penalty area as Barcelona won 3-0 at Camp Nou.

Dani Olmo and Raphinha previously helped the Catalan team to a two-goal lead when they overtook Real Madrid to return to the top of the standings.

"We are talking about a player from another galaxy. He has very high quality and contributes in important moments in the game."

"He has become a star who, despite his young age, is able to determine the outcome of the match," Almada said when asked to evaluate Yamal's goal in the 73rd minute.

Yamal's 11th goal of the season was the highlight of a difficult game that ended under heavy rain and thunder.

However, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick said he preferred the youngster's role in the first goal, when his pressing helped win the ball to set up Olmo's third goal since returning from a shoulder injury this month.

"For me, what is much more important is what Lamine did for the first goal. The way he pressed and how he snatched the ball that led to the goal is what we want."

"This is the key to opening this match and getting three points. For me, it's more important than the third goal. However, of course, everyone is happy to see the goal he scored in football and I'm happy he scored like that," said Flick in a press conference after the match.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid's victory over Villarreal on Saturday, January 24, 2026, has taken them to the top of LaLiga for a while after Barcelona's defeat to Real Sociedad last weekend.

Flick admitted that even though they won against Oviedo, his team was indeed difficult to always be in the best form because they faced a tiring schedule.

"Oviedo had nothing to lose. They were brave, did high pressing, and we didn't play at our best level, at least in the first half."

"The second half was better. We go match by match, a lot of travel, come home late, that's it. There are hardly any days off. That's what you have to see."

"Yes, this is professional football, it's normal, it's their job, but I can see the team giving their best, especially in the second half," he said.

Barcelona now turn their attention to the Champions League as they host Copenhagen at Camp Nou on Thursday, January 29, 2026, early morning WIB. A win will give them a good chance to secure an automatic place in the last 16.
