Public Enthusiastically Welcomes Mike Tyson's Return To The Ring

JAKARTA - 'Concrete Necker' Mike Tyson will be back in the ring. Although only a fundraising exhibition fight, the plan was greeted enthusiastically by boxing fans.

Videos of Tyson practicing a viral hit online in recent days. This legendary boxer still looks fierce and fast despite being 53 years old.

"I've been working out and trying to get into the ring, I think I can still get into the arena and get fit," said Tyson in an Instagram live broadcast session with rapper TI.

"I want to go to the gym and work on my stamina so I can play at least three or four rounds in charity and other activities," explained the first US heavyweight to hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles.

In the video, the man who once bit Evander Holyfield's ear is seen under the supervision of coach Rafael Cordeiro.

"I do two hours of cardio (exercise), cycle and run for an hour, then I do light weight lifting repetitively. Then I start my day with boxing, getting into the ring and hitting for 30 minutes, 25 minutes, to be in a good condition better, "said Tyson.

Meanwhile, on an interview, Cordeiro said he was surprised by Tyson's ability. Even though he is no longer young, Tyson still has the same strength as when he was active as a boxer.

"He hasn't worn boxing gloves for almost 10 years. So I didn't expect to see what I saw. I saw a man with the same speed, the same strength as a man aged 21 or 22 years," he said.

Tyson was named the youngest heavyweight champion of all time when he defeated Trevor Berbick in 1986 at the age of 20. He recorded 50 wins from 58 professional fights before deciding to retire.

Tyson hung up his mittens after losing to Kevin McBride in 2005. More than a decade has passed, now Tyson has come out with horrendous news.

If Tyson does return to the ring, he will follow in Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s footsteps. and Manny Pacquiao to come out of retirement for an exhibition fight.

"Unbelievably, this is another level," said UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov of the planned return of 'The Neck Concrete'.
