"Once We Were Us" Reaches 2 Million Viewers, Korea's Most Popular Romantic Film
JAKARTA - The film Once We Were Us reached 2 million viewers in South Korea and became the latest romance film to reach a high number of viewers. This film is a remake of the Chinese film titled Us and Them, the latest version starring Koo Kyo Hwan and Moon Ga Young.
Monday, January 26, the film received 2,001,032 viewers and managed to surpass the film Decision to Leave which reached 1.91 million viewers in 2022.
In addition, Once We Were Us became the most successful romantic film since Crazy Romance in 2019. This film ranked first for three consecutive weeks.
To celebrate the achievement, the players posed with a 200 balloon and uploaded it via social media.
"Thank you for 2 million viewers!" said Koo Kyo Hwan, Moon Ga Young, Kim So Yul, and Kim Seo Won as well as director Kim Do Young.
Once We Were Us tells the story of Eun Ho (Koo Kyo Hwan) and Jung Won (Moon Ga Young) who meet after 10 years ago ended their relationship.
This film is Koo Kyo Hwan's latest project which managed to attract millions of viewers. In addition, he is also preparing The Gardeners and Colony which is planned to air this year.
Moon Ga Young also returns to the big screen after last starring in the film Twenty Again in 2016.
On the other hand, it is not known when the film Once We Were Us will be shown in Indonesian cinemas.
