Shopee Indonesia Presents a Campaign to Support SMEs Affected by the Disaster in Sumatra

JAKARTA - Shopee Indonesia launched the "UMKM Sumatra Bangkit" campaign as support for micro, small, and medium business (UMKM) entrepreneurs affected by the Sumatra disaster.

The campaign, which is available on the Shopee Choose Local channel from January 26 to February 25, 2026, is designed to provide a large promotional space for SMEs in Sumatra and to support local entrepreneurs from Sumatra to recover.

Through this campaign, Shopee presents various supports, ranging from promotional exposure on various strategic channels, to special discount offers for buyers during the campaign period.

The 'UMKM Sumatra Bangkit' campaign will later be displayed on the front page of the Shopee application through a special banner, and will appear in the search column recommendation to make it easier for users to find Sumatran UMKM products.

Deputy Director of Public Affairs Shopee Indonesia, Radynal Nataprawira said Shopee Indonesia is committed to supporting MSMEs and local entrepreneurs in developing their businesses.

"This program is in line with Shopee's commitment, we hope that collaboration with the Ministry of MSME with the presence of a special campaign 'UMKM Sumatra Bangkit', can help the recovery of the business of MSME entrepreneurs in disaster-affected areas," said Radynal.

During this period, buyers can access the special 'UMKM Sumatra Bangkit' page on the Shopee Indonesia application, which displays various selected products from UMKM in the Sumatra region that have been curated on the Shopee Select Local channel.

Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM), Maman Abdurrahman also appreciated Shopee Indonesia's initiative and quick steps in presenting programs to help the recovery of UMKM affected by disasters in Sumatra.

"With this collaboration between the Government and the private sector, we hope that the recovery of MSMEs, especially in disaster-affected areas such as Sumatra, will receive real and sustainable support," said Maman.

Through this support, Shopee hopes that local entrepreneurs in Sumatra can rise and continue to grow.
