The completion of the Armco Bridge, Maninjau Village-Sungai Batang in Agam can be accessed.
JAKARTA - The access road to Nagari Sungai Batang, Tanjung Raya District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra (Sumbar) is back on track with the completion of the construction of an armco bridge after it was broken by flash floods.
Traffic activity from Nagari Maninjau to Nagari Sungai Batang was seen to be smooth even though the road was filled with dust from the flood of the flood, Monday, January 26.
The people in Nagari Sungai Batang are very grateful for the existence of the armco bridge because they no longer need to use boats or pontoons if they want to go to Maninjau.
"Alhamdulillah access has been smooth again. Our activities are not disturbed anymore," said one of the residents, Rida (31), in Sungai Batang Tanjung Raya Agam, quoted by Antara.
Rida said the existence of the bridge was very meaningful for the community because the access to Maninjau was closer only 10 minutes.
"It's only been about two weeks since the bridge was completed and it can now be used by vehicles," he said.
When the bridge was broken, the community was forced to use another road if they wanted to go to Maninjau.
First, the road turns around Lake Maninjau out at Jorong Kukuban PLTA with a distance of two hours of travel.
The second route uses a drum pontoon across Lake Maninjau with a travel time of up to 1.5 hours and a boat trip of about 15 minutes.
"We thank the TNI for building this bridge," he said.
Another resident, Ayu (32), was also very grateful for the completion of the bridge construction.
However, he also hopes that another bridge will be built on the border between Jorong Kukuban Nagari Maninjau and Nagari Sungai Batang, which is currently still using an emergency bridge.
"This bridge was also destroyed in the flash flood. Currently, it is still using an emergency bridge. We hope that this bridge will also be built," he hoped.
The Head of the Nagari (Village Head) of Sungai Batang Ahsin, Dt. Bandaro Kayo, said that there were around 5,600 people who used the bridge.
"With the completion of this bridge, the economic activities of the people will return to normal. I also hope that other bridge construction can be carried out soon," he said.
The commander of Kodim (Dandim) 0304/Agam, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Slamet Dwi Santoso said his party had completed the construction of seven units of armco and bailey bridges at the disaster site in Agam.
The completed bridge consists of four units of armco bridges and three units of bailey bridges.
"The four armco bridges have been 100 percent completed. For the bailey bridge, two units have been 100 percent completed and one unit is 90 percent completed, which is currently only painting," he said.
He said four armco bridges were in the Tanjung Raya District, three units and one unit in Malalak.
Meanwhile, the bailey bridge is located in the Rangeh River, Tanjung Raya District, one unit, Aia Taganang District, Matur District, one unit, and Kubu Sarunai District, Canduang District, one unit.
