Minister of Industry Gives a Glimpse of the Industrial Confidence Index in January 2026 Rising Quite High

JAKARTA - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita gave a leak, the industrial confidence index (IKI) figure will rise quite high in January 2026.

This was conveyed by Agus in a Working Meeting with Commission VII of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, January 26.

"Well, I can give you a spill that based on a survey or IKI release that we will release in the near future, in January 2026 our IKI figure will rise quite high," said Agus.

However, Agus could not disclose further details on the amount of IKI at the beginning of this year.

According to him, the figure will be conveyed to the public in the near future.

"But because this is still being calculated, we will convey it to the public in due course," he said.

Meanwhile, in December 2025, the IKI value was at 51.90.

This figure is down 1.55 points from IKI in November 2025 which was recorded at 53.45.

"IKI December 2025 was recorded at 51.90, this figure fell by 1.55 points compared to the achievement of November 2025 at 53.45 and lower by 1.03 points compared to IKI December 2024 which was 52.93," said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry Febri Hendri Antoni Arif quoted from a written statement, Wednesday, December 31.

According to Febri, the weakening of IKI in December is a common pattern that occurs at the end of the year.

"This condition reflects the cautious attitude of industry players in responding to global external pressures and seasonal factors at the end of the year," he said.

Even so, continued Agus, the value of IKI in January 2026 can be confirmed to increase significantly compared to December 2025.

"In December (2025) 51.90 and January (2026) we have received the figure, it is quite high for the industry confidence index, which means that the optimism of industry players is very good," he added.
