Former Karesidenan Besuki is Ready to Become a History Museum and Cultural Center
SITUBONDO - Culture Minister Fadli Zon assessed that the building of the former Besuki Karesidenan in Situbondo was worthy of being used as a historical museum after directly reviewing its physical condition, Sunday (25/1). The building, which is more than 220 years old, is considered to still be authentic and has the potential to be developed as a cultural center.
"This building has a status as a district-level cultural heritage and its condition is very good. The potential is great for recording the history of Besuki Residensi," said Fadli Zon when reviewing the rooms of the Besuki Resident's Office.
According to him, the function of the museum is important to explain the history of the Besuki Regency area, which now includes five regencies, including its social and cultural dynamics. In addition, the building can be developed into an education, learning, and art center in Situbondo.
