TNI Completes 9 Aramco-Bailey Bridges in the Agam Disaster Location

LUBUK BASUNG - The TNI has completed the construction of seven aramco and bailey bridges at the Agam Regency hydrometeorological disaster site, West Sumatra, so that transportation access is back to normal.

The commander of Kodim (Dandim) 0304/Agam, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Slamet Dwi Santoso, said that the completed bridge consisted of four aramco bridge units and three bailey bridge units.

"The four Aramco bridges have been 100 percent completed. For the bailey bridge, two units were 100 percent completed and one unit was 90 percent completed, which is currently only painting," he said in Lubuk Basung, Antara, Sunday, November 25.

He said that four aramco bridges were in Tanjung Raya District, three units and Malalak one unit. Meanwhile, the bailey bridge is located on the Rangeh River in Tanjung Raya District, one unit, Aia Taganang in Matur District, one unit, and Kubu Sarunai in Canduang District, one unit.

The construction of the bridge involves personnel from the 12/KJ Banyuasin Construction Zeni Battalion, the 2/Prasada Sakti Combat Zeni Detachment (Denzipur), the 896/Serumpun Pseko Territorial Infantry Development Battalion and the 897/Singgalang Territorial Development Battalion.

"One bridge involves 50 personnel from the TP Battalion and 20 technical teams from Denzipur," he said.

He added that the construction of the bridge took about two weeks to implement.

With the construction of the bridge, transportation access has returned to normal to carry agricultural products, school children's routes and to other areas.

One of the residents, Matur Hilia Dahril (38), said that with the completion of the bailey bridge by the TNI, the community was very helpful.

"We are very helped by the completion of this bridge, because this is an alternative road from Matua Mudiak to Palupuh District and Bukittinggi City," he said.

He said the bridge on the Batang Aia Taganang River was severely damaged by the river flow due to high rainfall in late November 2025.

As a result, the traffic flow connecting Matur District to Palupuh and Bukittinggi City was paralyzed and could not be passed by vehicles.

"So that normal traffic access, an emergency bridge is built from wood and can only be passed by two-wheeled vehicles," he said.
