Three Times Absent, Azis Syamsuddin Finally Appears At The DPR Plenary Meeting
JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Azis Syamsuddin, was finally seen attending the Plenary Session of the DPR RI for Session V for the 2020-2021 Session Year, Monday, May 31.
Previously, the deputy chairman of the Golkar Party was absent at the opening plenary session of the session, last May 6. Azis also did not appear at the plenary meetings on May 10 and May 25.
With the presence of Azis, five DPR leaders are declared complete to attend the Plenary Meeting today. Among them, the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puan Maharani, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmo Dasco Ahmad, Muhaimin Iskandar, and Rachmad Gobel.
However, after singing the anthem Indonesia Raya and the meeting was opened by the chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, Azis was no longer seen at the leadership table.
This means that Azis did not follow the agenda of the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani to read out the government's response to the views of the factions on the macroeconomic framework (KEM) and the main points of the fiscal policy of the RAPBN for the 2022 budget year. It was observed that there were only 4 leaders.
In the meeting, Puan reported, today's plenary session was attended by 348 members of the total 575 members of the DPR RI. With details, 63 people attended physically and 285 virtual attended virtually.
"Thus the quorum has been reached," said Puan.
Previously, when Azis was not seen in Parliament, the chairman of the Legal and Human Rights Advocacy Agency (Bakumham) of the Golkar Party, Supriansa, revealed that his party's waketum was indeed more often at home.
"I heard from a friend a few days ago that he was at the official residence and now he is often at his house," Supriansa told reporters at the DPR, Tuesday, May 25.
It is known that the name of the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Aziz Syamsuddin, was also involved in the extortion case carried out by KPK investigators from the National Police, Stefanus Robin Pattuju, against the Mayor of Tanjungbalai, M Syahrial.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri on Thursday, April 22. According to Firli, Aziz Syamsuddin was the actor who brought together KPK investigator Stefanus with the Mayor of Tanjung Balai.
