The Government Ensures that the Handling of the Bandung Barat Landslide Victims is Done to the Maximum

BANDUNG - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno emphasized the commitment of the central government in accelerating the handling of the landslide disaster in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, West Java.

According to Pratikno, the handling of victims was carried out to the maximum, ranging from the search and identification process to the handover of the bodies to the families, refugee protection, and efforts to prevent potential subsequent disasters.

"Currently, the main priority is to save lives. Therefore, the SAR operation is carried out 24 hours non-stop, considering that there are still about 83 residents who are in search," said Pratikno, quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 25.

He explained that the handling of the landslide disaster was carried out through five main clusters. First, the search and rescue (SAR) cluster, which was coordinated by Basarnas with the support of the TNI, Polri, BPBD, and BNPB, and involving volunteers.

"Then the health cluster. Health posts operate 24 hours a day, supported by a number of ambulances and referral mechanisms that are always on standby. Trauma healing services are also provided for affected victims," he said.

In addition, there is a logistics cluster that is tasked with ensuring that the basic needs of refugees are met, including basic necessities, ready-to-eat food, and supporting equipment such as blankets and other needs.

Pratikno also mentioned the social protection cluster supported by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Social Service, the West Java Provincial BPBD, and the West Bandung Regency BPBD to help the victims and affected families.

"The last cluster is the infrastructure cluster which focuses on the prevention of subsequent disasters and the provision of supporting facilities for affected residents," he said.

Furthermore, Pratikno revealed that Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka had discussed with the Deputy Governor of West Java and the Regent of West Bandung regarding the relocation plan, including accelerating the identification of safe land to minimize the risk of subsequent disasters.

"On this occasion, the Vice President has also discussed with the Deputy Governor and Regent regarding the relocation plan, including accelerating land identification," said Pratikno.
