Jaecoo Baru Distributes 3 Thousand Units of J5 EV to Consumers from 12 Thousand Units of Orders
JAKARTA - Jaecoo Indonesia has started distributing the Jaecoo J5 EV unit to consumers amid the rush of orders. The Chinese manufacturer has handed over 3,000 J5 units to consumers in various regions of the country until Saturday, January 24, 2026.
President Director of Chery Group Indonesia Zheng Shuo, said that the handover process is still ongoing as the company continues to pursue the queue of vehicle order letters (SPK).
"We just launched on November 3, then after two days, on November 4, 2025, the number of orders was above 2,000 units. Honestly, it was beyond our expectations," explained Zheng, when met at the PIK area, Saturday, January 24.
"Indeed, we have handed over a lot, about 3,000 units, but that can only cover until the first week of November. Now we are trying to complete the SPK until mid-November," he continued.
Meanwhile, Jaecoo himself emphasized his commitment to listening to consumer aspirations by continuing to optimize production capacity and distribution readiness. This is so that unit shipments can run more optimally, especially for buyers last year, so that units can be received before Lebaran 2026.
Business Unit Director Jaecoo Indonesia Jim Ma, said that market enthusiasm for the J5 EV since its launch was quite high. To date, the total SPK has exceeded 12,000 units.
"We apologize to prospective consumers who are affected by the waiting time for delivery. However, Jaecoo is currently increasing production capacity and optimizing the supply chain so that the Jaecoo J5 EV unit can be immediately accepted by consumers," said Jim.
In order to pursue the production of the J5 EV, the Chery Group has worked with Inchape, the owner of the Mercedes-Benz production facility in Wanaherang, Bogor, to be able to produce the J5 EV.
Jaecoo Indonesia is also now presenting a special program entitled Price Lock Insurance. Through an insurance worth IDR 8 million, consumers will receive protection from the potential increase in the price of J5 if the electric vehicle incentive is not continued.
"Through Price Lock Insurance, we want to give consumers a sense of security by ensuring that vehicle prices remain maintained even if there is an increase in prices," said Jim.
According to him, the Price Lock Insurance program can be followed by consumers who have paid the deposit until December 31, 2025. If the electric vehicle incentive is stopped, consumers will only pay Rp. 299,900,000 without additional costs due to the imposition of VAT.
Speaking of specifications, the Jaecoo J5 EV car adopts a 60.9 kWh battery with a maximum range of 461 kilometers (NEDC) in a single full charge. This battery can be charged using DC fast charging with a current of 130 kW.
When first introduced in the Indonesian market, the Jaecoo J5 was offered at a price of IDR 299.9 million on the road Jakarta for the Premium type and IDR 249.9 for the Standard type. This price makes it one of the compact SUVs with complete features in its class, and encourages high consumer interest since the initial launch.
