Joint Officers Assisted by 10 Vehicles to Put Out Fire in Cianjur

CIANJUR - Joint officers from the Cianjur Fire and Police Resor, West Java, have deployed 10 vehicles including water cannons to put out a fire that burned a general store warehouse on Jalan Dr Muwaradi, Muka Village, Saturday.

The Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Alexander Yurikho Hadi in Cianjur, Saturday, said that the joint officers consisted of TNI/Polri, Damkar Cianjur, BPBD Cianjur, Perumdam Cianjur, and volunteers tried to carry out quick handling so that the fire did not spread to other buildings.

"We have deployed all available fleets, including water tankers from Perumdam and services, as well as one water canon to put out the fire that had been raging for more than two hours," he said.

He explained that after raging for more than two hours, the fire was successfully extinguished and by nightfall the joint officers carried out cooling so that the fire did not re-ignite and carried out an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

The joint officers had trouble because many of them were easily flammable in the warehouse of the all-in-one store, and the strong wind made the fire quickly grow and almost spread to the adjacent building.

"The maximum effort of 10 vehicles that were lowered managed to put out the fire after raging for 2.5 hours, so that it did not spread to other buildings," said the Police Chief.

Based on information from a number of witnesses, he added, the fire was seen burning in the warehouse section about 30 minutes after the generator was turned on, the fire continued to grow and engulfed the entire building because of the many flammable materials.

The joint officers immediately conducted an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which almost leveled the warehouse, after the fire was declared completely extinguished, although the temporary fire was suspected to have come from a short circuit in the generator section.

"Officers are still investigating the exact cause of the fire at the all-in-one store, including still calculating the losses due to the fire, of course there were no injuries or casualties in the incident," he said.
