BRIN Land Bank strengthens research-based land governance

JAKARTA - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) agreed to strengthen the national land management based on research, innovation and scientific data through the support of the duties and functions of the Land Bank Agency.

This was realized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Land Bank Agency and BRIN regarding the optimization of the utilization of research and innovation results in land management.

Acting Head of the Real Estate Bank Agency Sudrajat said that the signing of the MoU was important to ensure that the management of state land not only runs in accordance with regulations, but is also adaptive to the development of science, technology and community needs.

This cooperation is also a manifestation of the commitment of the Land Bank Agency to open the widest possible space for collaboration with national research institutions.

"Land management can no longer rely solely on an administrative approach. Research, innovation and strong data support are needed so that the policies taken are truly targeted and provide real benefits to the community," said Hakiki in an official statement, Saturday, January 24.

Hakiki explained that his party is currently managing 34,767 hectares (ha) of land throughout Indonesia. Through synergy with BRIN, it is hoped that a more inclusive, innovative and sustainable land management ecosystem will be created.

Thus, it is able to provide long-term benefits for the community and support national development.

"We hope that this cooperation can produce real innovations in the field, ranging from planning to the utilization of productive, sustainable and equitable land," he said.

Meanwhile, BRIN Head Arif Satria emphasized that the cooperation was part of his party's commitment to ensure that the results of research and innovation can be used in a tangible way to support public policies and national development.

"We encourage research and innovation results not to stop at scientific publications, but can be directly applied to answer development needs. Cooperation with the Land Bank Agency is an example of how research can be present in data-based land management, sustainable and oriented towards the welfare of the community," he explained.

Arif added that the collaboration between BRIN and the Land Bank will also provide great benefits for parties that collaborate with BBT, one of which is the subject of agrarian reform on the management rights (HPL) of the Land Bank.

Through this synergy, the RA subjects on the HPL of the Land Bank can benefit, one of which is the use of appropriate technology training in the utilization of their land.

"We can be sources of innovation that can be hybridized by the Land Bank Agency. We will support what technology can be used for land utilization. We are ready to continue to collaborate," he added.
